    Getting used to Android

My mom got herself her very own HTC Flyer a couple of days ago (the mobile service provider offered her a discount for renewing her subscription) and has been very excited ever since. She played with it the whole day yesterday, trying to figure out all the features.

She told me this morning that this Android operating system is a bit too difficult for her. She had an Acer tablet that ran on Windows, and the Flyer is her first Android-based device. I, for one, don't find it difficult in comparison to Windows, but I've heard other people say that Android takes quite some time getting used to...

How fast did you get used to the Android OS?

I had it on a phone, and I really liked it. I didn't find it difficult to learn, either... it took me about a week, I guess, to really get comfortable with it.

I'm not sure what you mean by find the android OS difficult, I found it quite straight forward.

Having said that though, I do use multiple OSs, window XP and 7 (@ work) Ubuntu Linux (@ home) , and last partner, she had a Mac. But if you're only used to windows I can see where a different OS or even a different UI would take time to get used to.

I think it's pretty easy to understand, but if you are used to Windows, like most people are, it just takes a little getting used to.

The Android operating system is based on Linux, so it actually is a bit more difficult than Windows and iOS/Apple. I suppose it's more touchscreen-friendly than other operating systems, and that is the reason for which many companies use it for smartphones and tablets. You generally get used to it within a week or two...
