Application permissions?

Do you ever feel nervous about application permissions. I was going through my apps and noticed that some of the conditions said things that made me nervous. Have you ever found an app that abused the permissions? Kid Mode, for example, can control the audio and camera, does that make you worry?

I never really thought about it before. I would imagine the apps released by the good companies would cause no issues. They would not be likely to abuse their permissions. Just look up the developer and do a quick Google search to see if they are reliable.

Honestly, application permissions do make me worry. There are a ton of apps I won't use because I do not like how many permissions they get. That goes for any device I use whether it is my computer, phone or tablet.

I haven't figured out why some apps require the permissions they do. Why, for instance, would a *game* need access to my phone calls and contact list?

I know I should read through all of that, but honestly, I don't. I would probably be shocked at some of things that I've agreed to!

Blurb, you would indeed. I know Google fixed a problem because people's calendar and contacts were accessible. However, I don't know if that applies to just Google apps or if it applies to all apps.

Yes, I get nervous about it on occasion. I've decided against certain apps that I originally wanted, just for that reason. I hate it, but I'd rather feel secure.

Honestly, I don't worry about it. The truth is that this technology is too new to really know how the hackers and bad guys are exploiting it. I am not going to sit and worry over that. I am just going to try to stay informed about my HTC Flyer and about apps.
